Lee Valley, Waltham Abbey Case Study

Specific Areas of Work:         Bespoke Counter Cladding, Bespoke Housing, Bespoke Feature Backbar Display, Timber Frame Bulkheads, Ceilings, Feature Tiling, Roller Shutter and Flooring.

What we did:

CPF undertook a comprehensive strip-out of the existing floor coverings, redundant furniture and existing shop fitted counters. These were disposed of quickly to keep the site clear and maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

The old flooring was replaced with a combination of Expona Commercial planks with both wood effect and stone effect being used. Polysafe Ultima safety flooring was used to the rear of counters. The contrast in colour gave a very pleasing look.

Some of the ceiling remained as existing and in some areas we fitted a new MF ceiling finished in plasterboard with access panels and coated in emulsion paint to designers specification. As can be seen in the images we also manufactured a softwood timber lattice effect frame finished in clear varnish. This is a main feature of the space and separates the seating areas from the serving areas.

CPF were also tasked with cladding new stainless-steel counters in various finishes including copper effect laminate and vinyl flooring planks laid in a chevron pattern. We also manufactured the housing for multidecks and the bespoke back bar display to house bottles, these were finished in laminate with LED lighting to make the unit stand out. The addition of a mirrored back panel really brought the unit together.

As part for our works we were also tasked with supplying and fitting various rustic items including but not exclusive to; canoe, wagon wheel, rustic board menus and canoe paddle menu boards. These finishing touches really brought the whole project together and made the entire restaurant link into the Lee Valley White Water Rafting centre.

This was a well-received project, in a well-known and prestigious building.  It was a great experience for us to manufacture and procure for this scheme.  Combining our modern production techniques with authentic and rustic details as well as re-purposing existing materials gave rise to an exciting, vibrant multi-functional space.
